Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide the following supplies in support of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System: The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), Research and Development section, has a requirement for three (3) five-foot containment animal transfer stations. These pieces of equipment will be additional equipment. These units are stand alone and require power and an adequately ventilated room. These units do not require an exhaust vent. A containment animal transfer station is a lightweight ventilated cabinet that provides personnel and animal protection and is ergonomically designed to be an optimal workstation for changing animal cages. This cabinet is light weight and mobile. It has an open front. It has a downward HEPA filtered laminar airflow of at least 60 feet per minute for animal protection, and an inward airflow of at least 25 feet per minute, for personnel protection from allergens and HEPA filtered exhausted air for environmental protection. It is not meant to be used for high level biohazard work. This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement. Item must be brand name or equal to AllerGard ES (Energy Saver) 5 ft. (1.5 m) Dual Sided Animal Transfer Station (Manufacturer Part Number: NU-620-500). Vendors must be able to demonstrate that an equal item that can be provided if a substitute item is going to be provided. We require that these containment animal transfer stations must: The cabinet must have at least a 13 3/8 high access opening on the workstation. The cabinet must be mounted on heavy duty lockable stainless-steel casters with polyurethane wheels so it can be moved easily. The height of the work surface must have an adjustable hydraulic lift with standard automatic electric lift to provide an adjustable work surface height from at least 35 inches to at least 47 inches. The work surface must be at least 54 inches wide and 24 inches deep. The cabinets must have a folding shelf attached to one side of the cabinet and the shelf must be able to hold 25 pounds. Cabinets shall have a centrally located external instrument panel within the control center that is easily serviced with quick disconnects. The cabinets must have dual sided openings so that the work surface can be accessed from both the front and back of the cabinet, so that we can change cages from either side of the work surface. Cabinets must be able to be transported through a standard 36-inch-wide door without disassembly when in the retracted position. Cabinets must have handles on both sides of the unit to facilitate movement of the cabinets. Cabinet must have scratch resistant polycarbonate windows that are hinged so that they can be opened out. Work surface must be liquid impermeable and easily sanitized with easy lift handles and tilt up rolling rods for access to exhaust pre-filter and cleaning. Station (excluding work surface) must be constructed a corrosive resistant material such as cold rolled steel and aluminum coated with corrosive resistant powder coat enamel finish or other corrosive resistance materials. Cabinet must contain supply and exhaust HEPA filters. The station must have two internal electrical circuits, one for the blower and lights and the other for a duplex outlet. Station must have one duplex outlet with a drip resistant cover. Use a standard American 115 V, 20 Amp receptacle power outlet. Cabinet must have a light inside the cabinet. Energy efficient LED lighting is preferred. The equipment manufacturer shall be expected to provide both factory generated test results and independent test results to verify the performance of the cabinet from a standpoint of both product and personnel protection. The cabinet shall be UL listed to meet the requirements of UL3101-1 for the US and Canada Cabinet must have at least a three-year warranty. Vendor must be able to provide set-up and delivery in research lab. No gray market or remanufactured items will be acceptable. Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller for the proposed equipment/system, verified by an authorization letter or other documents from the OEM. Potential candidates having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated supplies at a fair and reasonable price are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Jennifer Robles at jennifer.robles1@va.gov no later than June 16, 2021, 5PM PST. RESPONSES SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: Company name, address, DUNS number and business size; point of contact name, phone number, and e-mail address; whether services are presently offered on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. NAICS Code 333999, Size Standard: 500 employees is applicable to determine business size standard. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. The Government may or may not issue a solicitation as a result of this announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time.
