Page 2 of 4 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses with special interest in seeking: VA certified Service Disabled Veteran owned Small Business (SDVOSB), VA certified Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and Small Business (SB) concerns. No solicitation is being issued at this time. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The VA Boston Healthcare System has a requirement for Uniform Rental and Laundering services. The appropriate NAICS Code 812332, Industrial Launderers, Size Standard $41.5 Million Preliminary - Specifications/Work Statement (Numbers below are estimates and subject to change) 1.0 GENERAL: The VA Boston Healthcare System, Engineering Service located at 940 Belmont Ave, Brockton, MA 02301-5596, requires Uniform Rental and Laundering services for one hundred twenty (120) engineering personnel covering 3 locations. 2.0 BACKGROUND: Service is required to maintain uniforms worn by engineering personnel. 3.0 SCOPE: Engineering has a requirement for uniform rental and laundering services for one hundred twenty (120) engineering personnel: 3.1 Uniform Rental: All uniforms must be as specified below: - Shirts (NFPA 70E Level 2 Flame Resistant) - 11 rented uniforms x 120 engineering personnel = 1,320 shirts - Pants (NFPA 70E Level 2 Flame Resistant) - 11 rented uniforms x 120 engineering personnel = 1,320 pants 3.2 Laundry Services: - Weekly laundry service for soiled uniforms to include pick-up/drop-off tentatively on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon of each week. -Weekly laundry services to include repair of uniforms in the event there is a hole, tear, rip, zipper broken, etc. If repair cannot be completed, the item needing repair will need to be replaced. -All items will be scanned upon pickup and delivery to ensure accuracy of inventory counts. -A pickup and delivery report will be provided upon delivery. -Services are to include the provision of all labor, materials and equipment to pick up, launder, replace, repair, press, place on hangers and deliver weekly to designated locations. - Location for pick-up and drop-off is as follows: VAMC Brockton, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301 VAMC Jamaica Plain, 150 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130 VAMC West Roxbury, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132 4.0 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: -The period of performance will include one base year and four option years. Email statements of capabilities to david.heslin@va.gov outlining your company's capability and provide the business size status in accordance with the small business administration website (www.sba.gov) for the above referenced NAICS code. Additionally, if responding under a Service Disabled Veteran Owned/Veteran Owned Small Business status, ensure your firm is registered at https://www.vetbiz.va.gov/. Finally, also include if you have a lead-time (and what it is) in starting service to a new customer. Responses must be submitted by 2:00 pm (EST) on Friday June 25, 2021. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements.
