Synopsis Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source The United States Coast Guard, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1: Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Showboat Custom Coating Inc. to clean, sand, polish, then coat with SB-230. Showboat Custom Coating Inc. is the only vendor that provides SB-230 for coating the cutter. This sole source synopsis exception to full and open competition is authorized when award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of costs or unacceptable delays (see FAR 6.302-l (a) (2) (iii)). The Product Service Code is J019 � MAINT/REPAIR/REBUILD OF EQUIPMENT- SHIPS, SMALL CRAFT, PONTOONS, AND FLOATING DOCKS This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. Any vendor that believes it can provide the stated product/service can provide supporting documents demonstrating their authorization as a value added reseller, capability and past performance.
