Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: RB Akins Co NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), intends to award a single source contract to RB Akins Co, Oklahoma City, OK. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to acquire, under single source services to replace electronics with ICOM2 controls; replace existing blower section in each of the 11 units with a fan upgrade package; install supply air sensor kits in each unit; and provide a switch to connect the units to enable the teaming and smart behavior. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced Due to the critical importance of these units, it is imperative that these modifications be made by factory-authorized technicians with access to training, engineering support, and proprietary information. Vertiv (formerly Liebert) is the OEM, and as such can provide factory certified technicians for install and parts that are guaranteed to fit and function seamlessly with our existing units. Vertiv has a geography-based distribution system and there is only one retailer (RB Akins) in Oklahoma.� This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to RB Akins and is not available for full and open competition.
