- � This is a Synopsis announcement in accordance with FAR 5.202 in anticipation of a future contract award. The Contracting Department, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Portsmouth, VA intends to award a Multiple Award contract (MAC), Indefinite Quantity, Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract utilizing procedures under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation for the rental of Material Handling Equipment in support of NNSY operations.� The points of-contact (POCs) for this Synopsis are Mr. William Webb, Contract Specialist, email William.a.webb2@navy.mil and Mrs. Denise Sturdifen, Supervisory Contract Specialist, email: �Denise.a.sturdifen@navy.mil. The anticipated period of performance for the rental services is 01 December 2021 to November 30, 2022.� The anticipated date for contract award is on or about 01 November 2021. Complete Request for Proposal (RFP) package for the execution effort will be available on or about 01 July 2021 for downloading at https://www.sam.gov.� The planned RFP number is N4215821R0008.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 532490, Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing.� Potential contractors are hereby notified that the solicitation and subsequent amendments to the solicitation will ONLY be available for download at the above site; this office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations.� By submitting an offer, the contractor is self-certifying that neither the requestor nor the principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency.� Failure to do so may represent grounds for refusing to accept the proposal. By submission of a proposal(s), the contractor acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee must be registered in the SAM database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation, except for awards to foreign vendors for work to be performed outside the United States.� Lack of registration in the SAM database will make a contractor ineligible for award.� Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at https://www.sam.gov.
