June 30, 2021 Time: 12-4pm CST Location: TIme Check Hall in the City Services Building - 500 15th Ave SW Cedar Rapids, Iowa Event Information: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will host a Cedar Rapids Industry Day event for all businesses interested in the Cedar Rapids Flood Risk Management Project Reach 4 Combined Features Construction Project. ��This project will be an Unrestricted Best Value with Trade Offs.� The event is free of charge and all interested parties are invited to attend.� �To register to attend the Industry Day please email Troy Robbins at troy.a.robbins@usace.army.mil by Tuesday 29 June 2021.��� Agenda: Noon � 1:00PM CST���������������� 30 Minute Presentation on the Project followed by general Q&A session 1:00PM-4:00PM�CST�������������� � 6, 30 Minute Breakout Sessions with Individual Contractors To register for one-on-one sessions please indicate which session you are interested in.� The sessions are first come first serve. CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DAY The Construction Industry Day event provides an opportunity to learn about the Cedar Rapids Flood Risk Management Project Floodwall and Closure Construction Reach 4 and assist in the improvement of the Plans and Specifications.� �The objective of this Industry Day session is to obtain Contractor feedback on concerns and major risk items associated with the construction of the Reach 4 project features given the constraints and complexities of the project. Project Overview: The purpose of the Cedar Rapids Flood Risk Management (CRFRM) system is to reduce flood risk, flood damages, and management costs resulting from flood events in the Cedar Rapids, IA area.� The project begins upstream of the downtown area near Cedar Lake and ends downstream near the Cargill facility.� The Project has one local sponsor, the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.� The overall CRFRM project consists of an alignment comprised of concrete floodwalls, earthen levees, pump stations, gatewells, removable wall or gate sections at road and railroad crossings, McLoud Run Channel modification and restoration, embankment across an unnamed tributary and placement of erosion protection that totals over 7.5 miles in length. �The project is comprised of several features with numerous design and construction contracts and timelines.� The East Side project has been divided into four reaches, and several separate USACE construction contracts or City of Cedar Rapids contracts to construct all features within each reach.� Figure 1 (see�Attachment) shows the general east side Project alignment separated into four general reaches, Reach 1, 2, 3 and 4.� Contractor input as part of this Industry Day is targeted towards the Reach 4 project features, with Table 1 (see Attachment) identifying the individual features within those reaches.� This notice does not constitute a solicitation. This announcement and the Construction Industry Day event are for planning purposes only. ��Response to this notice is strictly voluntary. The Government will not reimburse any party attending or participating for costs incurred for this event or marketing efforts.
