Description
The requirement is for supplies for which the Government solicited with only one source in accordance with authority 10 U.S.C 2304 (c) (1), only one responsible source and no other sources and services will satisfy agency requirements, as implemented by Subpart 6.302-1 from Velan Valves Corporation. The valves are required to provide critical spares in support of the Steam Safety and Reliability Engineering Program/Steam Critical Spares Program. The Steam Safety & Reliability Engineering Program/Steam Critical Program is essential to providing battle ready spares program is essential to providing battle ready spares for Amphibious ships and allows them to meet the needs of the U.S. Navy�s optimized fleet response plan and ships operational tempo (OPTEMPO). The steam valves to be purchased are required to be built in accordance with MIL-DTL-18110 and MIL-DTL-22052. In accordance with MIL-DTL-18110 and MIL-DTL-22052, the valves must be provided by a supplier on the 18110 and 22052 Qualified Products List. The valves are also required to comply with NAVSEA 0948-LP-045-7010, material identification and control (MIC) Level I program. Level I components requires a high degree of material assurance, and a Navy certifying activity is required to verify the material traceability of the components. Velan Valves Corporation is the only company that can provide the Navy with qualified valves, that can meet the temperature/pressure requirements of the steam systems, has qualified weld and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures, can meet Navy Level I requirements, and is a supplier listed on the 18110 and 22052 Qualified Products List. The Government awarded N6449821G4004 a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP), Basic Ordering Agreement.
