Description
This RFI and sources sought synopsis is for planning purposes ONLY. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement, such as small business set-aside, large business, unrestricted, etc. The U.S. Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration (MARAD), U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is issuing this synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties that have an interest in, and the resources, capabilities, expertise to provide seasonal inspection, diagnostic and repair services for water tube steam Boilers #1 and Boiler # 2 located in Delano Hall; manufactured by Babcock and Wilcox FM9-30B, 15,000 LB/HR with burner management system BMS- 2000 manufactured by Coen Company. The boilers serve steam for domestic hot water, heating water and required to train the midshipmen at the USMMA.� I have attached the Statement of Work to give you a better understanding of the requirement. Please provide a written response consisting of no more than 15 pages, using single-spaced lines, and a 12-point font. Each factor should be in described separate files.� Please provide general descriptions of the following in your response: 1. Experience 10 years of installing and servicing Babcock and Wilcox boilers. 2. Past Performance:� Completed jobs of similar magnitude within the last 3 years, contract number, period of performance, Point of Contact, name of business you performed the service for, dollar value. 3.� Certifications that permits you do this type of work. 4.� Experience describing what you did and the company you did the for, point of contact and the length of time. 5.� Do you provide a warranty for the work. 6. Foreseeable obstacles and potential risks in performing this work. 7. Business Size 8. DUNs Submission Instructions: Interested parties, who consider themselves qualified to perform the above-listed services are invited to submit a response to this Notice by 4:00 PM (EST) June 28, 2021.
