Description
DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition Systems, is seeking information on commercial availability of Strontium Nitrate.� The Strontium Nitrate shall meet the requirements listed in MIL-S-20322B. SPECIFICATIONS: Specification for Strontium Nitrate, Anhydrous MIL-S-20322B, Distribution A (For Public Release). SUBMISSION INFORMATION: The Government is interested in the availability of Strontium Nitrate in the market which meets the chemical and physical requirements of MIL-S-20322B. Submissions should include supporting information demonstrating that the Strontium Nitrate will meet the chemical and physical requirements of Table I in MIL-S-20322B along with all other specification requirements. It is important to include the following information: (1) a description of the company�s ability to process raw Strontium Nitrate feedstock into MIL-Spec material, (2) the company�s ability to further process or granulate through #70 US Sieve for tighter granulation needs, (3) information on supply quantities and cost, specifically the ability to supply approximately 50,000 lbs. of conforming material per year, (4) information on the supply chain and where the material is being mined and synthesized, �and (5) a brief summary of the company�s capabilities, facilities, personnel, and past experience as it relates to the above criteria. Submittal of information is requested via electronic mail only.� Information must be submitted to Derek Fuller (derek.a.fuller2.civ@mail.mil), Ben Styvaert (benjamin.w.styvaert.civ@mail.mil), and Charles Davis (charles.d.davis49.civ@mail.mil).� Please respond No Later than 30 days after issuance of this notice and identify �Small Caliber Strontium Nitrate Research� as the subject of your response. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY.� This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes � it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future.� This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever.� Further, the Army is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals.� Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party�s expense.�
