Description
The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate a contract for a Maintenance Agreement for 6 humidifiers. The National Institutes of Health, Division of Radiation Safety needs to obtain a Maintenance Agreement to perform routine preventative maintenance (PM) of six (6) humidifiers located in the Building 49 Central Animal Facility. As part of the scope of each PM visit will provide two (2) Annual and two (2) Operational inspections per year, which will be in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, equipment application, and the companys extensive experience. The Building 49 Central Animal Facility currently owns six humidifiers. These humidifiers introduce clean steam into the incoming animal room air, which increases the humidity in the room. These humidifiers are installed in each of the New World Nonhuman Primate Holding Rooms in the Building 49 Central Animal Facility. The New World Nonhuman Primates require a higher humidity level than what can be supplied by the Building 49 Central Animal Facilitys HVAC system. These stand-alone humidifiers have been installed into each room, requiring a strict 40-70% humidity range for the well-being of the marmosets housed within each room. Marmosets are tropical monkeys and require a temperature of 26-28 C (78-82F) and a humidity level of 40-70%. These pieces of equipment are vital to the health and well-being of the Nonhuman primates within the facility.
