Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Southeast Area (SEA) facilities in Stoneville, MS has a requirement for�Bldg. 8 HVAC Equipment Replacement and Interior Renovations.��The contractor will provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment necessary to accomplish the requirements.��USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced construction contract. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside.��The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 with a size standard of $39.5M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement.��During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions. A brief description of the proposed work required is as follows: Item 001 - Replace HVAC Equipment FOR Bldg. 8 The Contractor shall remove the existing hot water boiler, duct mounted reheat coils, air handling unit, hydronic water pumps, laboratory exhaust fan, air cooled chiller, laboratory air valves and appurtenances. New equipment to be installed consists of hot water boiler, duct mounted reheat coils, air handling unit, hydronic water pumps, laboratory exhaust fan, laboratory air valvesair cooled chiller, and all appurtenances for a complete and operational hydronic HVAC system. Provide all new equipment with controllers to interface with the existing DDC system serving the building. The existing controls system for Building 8 is manufactured by Distech and interfaces with the campus-wide system located in the ARS Stoneville Maintenance Shop. All new equipment shall be provided with controllers that are fully compliant with the existing controls system. Item 002 - Bldg. 8 Interior Renovations Work consists of interior renovations to Building #8 and includes, but is not limited to, removing existing partitions, casework, doors, ceiling grid, plumbing fixtures, receptacles, exterior canopy and sections of the exterior walls. New work consists of installing partitions, ceiling grid, lighting, casework, doors, exterior canopy, air terminals, receptacles, and finishes. Add Alternate: Item 1001 - Windows Installation: Work consists of installing windows. In accordance with FAR 36.204 the estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 Site Visits are�anticipated to be scheduled for July 13 at 9:30 a.m. Central, July 14 at 1:30 p.m. Central and July 15 at 10:00�a.m. Central. The Site Visits will be held at: USDA ARS SEA 141 Experiment Station Road Stoneville, MS 38776 Pre-registration to attend the site visit will be required no later than July 12�at 2:00 p.m. Central by email to Nicholas Langley, Nicholas.Langley@usda.gov. Provide names of personnel to be in attendance and the site visit date you plan to attend, limited to two individuals per firm and each firm may only attend one of the site visits.� Please be prepared to wear�a�face mask�and practice�appropriate social distancing�at the site visit. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement, with all relevant documents, on or around July 7, 2021.� The soliciation posting and related documents will specify the due date for proposals.� It is anticipated the period of performance for this contract will be 120 days after receipt of the notice to proceed.� This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
