Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Gentec-EO USA, Inc. 5825 Jean Road, Lake Oswego OR under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), for the procurement of custom pyroelectric sensors & analog controller modules. Sole source determination is based on the need to acquire custom pyroelectric sensors that have an organic black absorbing coating/paint that has the same spectral reflectance as that on existing NIST standard pyroelectric sensors. In order to ensure drop-in replacement compatibility of the spectral reflectance of the new sensors with existing standard sensors, it is necessary to purchase the same types of sensors, with the same absorbing coating, from Gentec-EO. This is proprietary and is only available from Gentec-EO. Gentec-EO does not have any authorized distributors/resellers.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334515, and the size standard is 750 employees. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� No solicitation package will be issued. �This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. �Interested parties that believe they can satisfy the requirements listed above must identify their capability in writing before the response date of this notice.
