Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE This is a notice of intent to sole source a procurement under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and only one responsible source.�� The applicable NAICS Code is 334517 Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing; PSC Code is 6350. The USMC Regional Contracting Office (RCO) � Marine Corps Installations-National Capital Region (MCI-NCR) at Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA intends to award a sole source contract to: RAPISCAN SYSTEMS, Inc. 2805 Columbia Street Torrence, CA 90503 The MCI-NCR RCO intends to award this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(B), Only one source reasonably available�. �This is a follow-on requirement for the renewal of annual evaluations, maintenance and support services for Rapiscan Systems Inc. 620XR and 26XR X-ray Systems and Metor 300 Walk-through Metal Detector. The evaluations/maintenance are required to identify any issues and/or concerns with the Rapiscan equipment/systems. The evaluations, maintenance, and support services is required to keep the existing� equipment/systems operational/working properly on a daily basis.� This will assure the security and safety of visiting patrons, staff members, artifacts, and the entire National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC) campus/facility. Without properly functioning x-ray machines or the walk-through metal detector, the NMMC security staff will not be capable of performing security screening to identify and remove edge weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, and organic material that may cause damage/injury to people and Government property Award is expected to be made on or around 5 July 2021. The anticipated contract is for a period of performance (base period plus four (4) option periods) from 15 September 2021 through 14 September 2026.� This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.� Capability statements or quotes, if received timely, will be considered; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses shall be emailed to kevin.guertin@usmc.mil no later than 01 July 2021, 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time.� Late responses will not be considered.
