Description
Ultrasonic Cleaning/Passivation/Pickling System and Chemicals Ultrasonic SystemRequirements Must meet ASTM A380-06, ASTM A-967, and TB MED 577 requirements for cleaning/passivation/pickling stainless steel and aluminum potable water tanks The ultrasonic cleaning system must include a bank of transducers mounted to a radiating diaphragm and electrical generator The ultrasonic cleaning system transducers are required to be piezoelectric The submersible tree is required to fit inside a standard 36 manhole on top of a potable water tank The transducer packs are required to be mounted to a single stainless steel submersible support tree and include submersible guarding to prevent damage when lowered into the potable water tank or out of the potable water tank Eight (8) submersible transducer packs are required The submersible tree cannot weigh more than 300 pounds Each submersible trees outside diameter cannot be larger than 32, The submersible trees are required to be made out of 304 and 316L, cold rolled, fully annealed stainless steel The submersible trees are required to not negatively react to the cleaning/passivation/pickling chemicals The submersible trees cannot produce pitting The ultrasonic system must have a digital timer and reset button included to permit timing of the ultrasonic cleaning cycle ranging from one (1) second to ninety-nine point ninety-nine (99.99) hours. The ultrasonic system must include an overhead hoist hook to lower the submersible trees into the potable water tank Each submersible cannot be larger than 7 x 4.5 x 40 Each submersible must include a radiating surface that is chrome-plated The submersible tree must be able to be stored at extreme temperatures (-15 115 F) The ultrasonic generator frame cannot weigh more than 400 pounds The submersible tree must include a stainless steel stand and be able to be stored upright on this stainless steel stand Each submersible will be equipped with twenty-four (24) pulse sonic 25kHz ultrasonic transducers Each submersible will include a stainless steel riser tube that will house the electrical wiring Transducers will be powered by ultrasonic generators with sweep frequency generator output which will continuously modulate the output frequency to minimize hotspots The ultrasonic system power intensity controllers must be on each generator and include: Automatic frequency tracking Multi-functional digital display Overload indicator Automatic reflector tuning to increase the power The generator stand cannot be more than 40 x 24 40 tall The generators are required to be housed in a custom-manufactured 304 stainless steel support frame and the ultrasonic systems support frame will be a closed construction with filtered fans The power connection must be direct The operating frequency must be 25Khz The generators must be individually fused and cooled to promote a long life The ultrasonic systems power must be at least be 19,200 peak watts and 9,600 watts RMS 3-phase power required with 480 volts ChemicalsRequierments Must meet ASTM A380-06 requirements for cleaning/passivation/pickling stainless steel and aluminum potable water tanks Must meet ASTM A-967 requirements for cleaning/passivation/pickling stainless steel and aluminum potable water tanks Must meet TB MED 577 requirements for cleaning/passivation/pickling stainless steel and aluminum potable water tanks Must be compatible with FDA Food Grade cleaning/passivation/pickling chemical requirements FDA Food Grade cleaning/passivation/pickling chemicals must comply with the strict EPA/Environmental requirements FDA Food Grade cleaning/passivation/pickling chemicals must be powerful enough to remove tough contaminants, yet gentle enough not to damage the tank Be able to produce the thin layer anti corrosion layer on the inside of the potable water tanks in combination with the FDA Food Grade chemicals FDA Food Grade cleaning/passivation/pickling chemicals must be gentle enough not to harm those On-Base as we are far away from a trauma 1 hospital equipped to treat harsh chemical burns FDA Food Grade cleaning/passivation/pickling chemicals must be biodegradable as we do not have a working waste system On-Base Must not leave a bad after taste Is required to produce a low foam or no foam Must be able to change the chemical composition to meet our needs Must have a pH close to neutral Must be compatible with the bleed and feed methodology Sierra Army Depot is seeking sources who can provide an Ultrasonic System capable of Cleaning, Passivation and Pickling to include Chemicals through GSA schedule. If unable to provide through schedule please indicate if you are able to provide through open market. This is a Sources Sought Notice only and not intended to solicit offers. If your firm is capable of meeting this requirement please submit a product cut sheet or similar of the product with specifications. Also include your company socioeconomic status (i.e. Small Business, Other Than Small Business, etc.) and GSA contract number if applicable. Responses can be e-mailed to: alaine.f.barrea@mail.mil. This information will be used as market research in determining an appropriate acquisition strategy. At this time Sierra Army Depot is NOT looking for proposals or quotes. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME.
