Description
Background Mashpee Wampanoag Health Service Unit is a full service clinic. In order to maintain safe patient care and create a safe and debris free environment we seek to contract a trash/disposal and removal company to keep out area disposables contained for proper disposal. STATEMENT OF WORK Purpose To provide solid waste removal services for the Indian Health Service, Nashville Area Office, Mashpee Service Unit located at 483B Great Neck Rd. South, Mashpee, MA 02649-3707 The Mashpee Service Unit, Indian Health Service (IHS) Health Clinic is a Federal medical clinic whose mission is to raise the mental, physical, and spiritual health of the Native American in this geographic are and who meet Federal eligibility requirements. In execution of this mission this facility will generate solid and solid recyclable wastes. The objective of this solicitation is to acquire services for the appropriate removal of that waste in a manner that assures the safeguarding of the workplace, and compliance with Federal, state, and local waste disposal regulations. Types of Waste This will be a family clinic and is not expected to have any specialty services at least initially. Therefore; the typical types of waste generated at this facility would be what you would expect at any similar facility. Also, the volume is not expected to be very large. The types of waste shall include: Common household type wastes Packaging Cardboard and Plastics No toxic or hazardous medical wastes will be included in any resulting contract (separately handled) Requirements The contractor shall help the facility to interpret the Federal, State and local regulations to ensure compliance and determine the best course of action for waste produced by the facility. The contractor shall provide the appropriate level of training to the staff to ensure the basic required understanding of requirements, processes, and safety measures for waste disposal storage and pickup are maintained. The contractor shall provide the appropriate waste containers (six-yard closable container � est.). The contractor shall provide approved temporary storage of waste containers awaiting pickup and transport. The contractor shall ensure pickup, removal, and transport of the waste and cardboard recycling to an approved location for final resolution of those wastes/recyclables. The contractor shall provide pickup service on a weekly or bi-weekly (recyclables may be less frequent based on use) basis with provisions to increase pickup frequency as volume increases and to request an occasional �special� out of cycle pick service for a unique circumstance. If routine waste pickup is interrupted due to inclement weather the contractor shall complete pickup within two days of the inclement weather event. Spillage: contractor shall pickup all spillage within a 10� radius of the vehicle if spillage occurs during routine transportation pickup. Administration Only equitable economic adjustment shall be permitted upon proper verification and establishment to the administrative contracting officer that an adjustment is required as fair and equitable between the contractor and the Government. Purpose of this inclusion is to account for escalation in state fees for landfill use, rising overhead of contractor, e.g., labor rates/fuel and other known or unknown factors with approved justification by establishing the cost. PERIOD OF SERVICE The performance period will begin October 1, 2021 and will carry through to September 31, 2022. ��������������� Option Year One:��������������� Oct. 1, 2022 through Sept. 31, 2023 ��������������� Option Year Two:�������������� Oct. 1, 2023 through Sept. 31, 2024 ��������������� Option Year Three:������������ Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 31, 2025 ��������������� Option Year Four:�������������� Oct. 1, 2025 through Sept. 31, 2026
