- Naval Supply Systems Command San Diego hereby gives NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE to ESL Power Systems to provide electric power cables, built specifically to integrate with the ship and port�s connection. The cables are 480 volts/ 400 amperage ship to shore cables, required to provide guided-missile destroyer (DDG), guided-missile cruiser (CG), and dock landing (LSD) class vessels with shore power while in port. These cables prevent ships from having to auxiliary steam �burn fuel� while in port. ESL Power Systems have unique and proprietary materials for building their hardware. ESL�s Items: 0921-01A-10, 0921-01A-100, 0921-01A-200 include ESL MIL-C 24368/1 plugs with 316 Stainless Steel hardware for corrosion resistance in marine environments. The 316SS hardware is unique to ESL. Furthermore, the MIL-C-24368/1 plugs are potted THOF 500 Enhanced cable using a proprietary procedure that ensures no voids are formed within the potting material. ESL�s Item 5200-05A includes ESL MIL-C 24368/2 receptacles with 316 Stainless Steel castings and hardware for corrosion resistance in marine environments. ESL is the only Qualified Products List (QPL) manufacturer using 316SS receptacle castings. The cable potting at the receptacle also includes the proprietary procedure that ensures no voids are formed within the potting material. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 335999, All Other Miscellaneous Equipment and Component Manufacturing. There will be no written solicitation issued. This is an intent to purchase a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-2. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Certain Commercial Items.
