Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC-PCD) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to General Micro Systems, Inc., 8358 Maple Place, Rancho Cucamonga, CA� 91730 for the following items:� 3 each SB1002-FSS Test Cable Set Part Number 76-0092-000.� These items are not suitable for full and open competition for the following reasons. NSWC PCD utilizes the SB1002-FSS test cable set for connection to the LCAC-100 Data Storage Device (DSD) to pull log files, perform verification and validation of software updates, and perform maintenance and troubleshooting. The LCAC-100 utilizes the DSD as part of its baseline and General Micro Systems is the sole vendor and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the DSD and its support items. Utilizing a vendor other than General Micro Systems will require the reverse engineering of the DSD to identify the electrical connections of the unit, identification of components, assembly, and testing of the cable, resulting in greater risk of damage to the DSD and other components and delaying work performed as part of the SSC platform. No other source for this item currently exists.� The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N61331-21-T-JK43. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7001 within twenty-two (22) weeks after award of the order. ��
