Description
Solicitation # HHSNIHOPCSBSS-21-010740 Date Posted 6-28-2021 Date Closed 7-5-2021 This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department of Perioperative Medicine and Dr. Zaghloul is requesting a Preventative Maintenance Agreement (PMA) for the Alpha Omega Machine which is a micro-electrode recording and stimulation system for deep brain stimulation surgery. The purpose of this purchase is to provide the Surgical Neurology Branch with equipment support for a multi-modality micro-electrode recording system that can capture single-unit spiking data, local field potential data, simultaneous surface EEG data, and that can provide real-time online analyses and triggered and patterned electrical stimulation. The PMA for this piece of equipment supports protoc Alpha Omega Cop. Alpha Omega is the only company that can provide preventative maintenance support for the NeuroOmega & Electronic Drive making them the sole source. Alpha Omega NeuroOmega system is the only system on the market which allows for triggered and/or pattern stimulation using closed-loop functions. These features make it the most powerful MER system for research applications/clinical benefit on the market. These proprietary specs make them the only company that can provide the PMA services. There is also a head stage that is used with the unit that gets sterilized. It is specific to the NeuroOmega and no other company can repair that portion either. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, July 5, 2021 at 11:00 EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Priscilla Abalos, Contract Specialist, Priscilla.abalos@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
