- Description
- The purpose of this mod to previous pre-sol is to provide responses to technical questions received. Question 1: Can you provide a copy of the original construction documents? VA Response: SOW 1.4.2 Facility Drawings. Record drawings of existing conditions will be provided by the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System to the selected [highest rated] A/E firm. These drawings may or may not be fully accurate. The A/E is responsible for performing sufficient on site investigations to completely and accurately document the existing conditions for the design project. Question 2: Do you have a geotechnical report for the original building that you can provide? VA Response: The VA has been unable to locate the geotechnical report. If it is located, it will be provided to the highest rated A/E firm. Question 3: Can you please identify the firm that designed the existing structural system? VA Response: This information will be provided to the highest rated A/E firm with the as-built drawings. Question 4: Will the following personnel and experience be required for: Certified Independent Third-Party Safety Professional (CITP) VA Response: Required as necessary - VA safety specialists will be intimately involved in the design process and approval. Physical Security Specialist VA Response: Required as necessary - physical security will be implemented with VA s guidance. We will be integrating with existing physical security measures. Progressive Collapse Design VA Response: The selected A/E will use like-existing structural system as per the as-built structural design drawings. Foundation and main structural support systems are already in place. Blast Analysis/Design VA Response: This is not relevant for this project. The selected A/E will use like-existing materials and construction. Florida licensed Structural Engineer VA Response: Local license is not required, but the Structural Engineer must be licensed somewhere in the US. This is stated in the Request for SF 330s: The lead key personnel in each discipline must be registered professionals but do not have to be registered in the particular state where the project is located. Vertical Expansion projects VA Response: Required as necessary. VA Response: The necessity for disciplines not explicitly stated in the SOW will be determined by the selected A/E and the VA. As stated in SOW 1.3: (14) Any other consultant as necessary to complete the work. Question 5: Does the Pensacola VAMC own the REVIT file to work from or will the contractor need to develop the REVIT file? VA Response: The Pensacola VAMC does not have a Revit file, but it is not required for the selected A/E firm to model the entire building in Revit. Only the new project and the immediate adjacencies where required for clarity will need to be modeled.
