- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. Joint Base Charleston, located in Charleston, SC seeks an Offeror to provide leased commercial grade washers and dryers that meet the Government's current ENERGY STAR specifications for energy efficiency (Complete product specifications and updated lists of qualifying products can be found at http://www.energystar.gov/products, and information about the FEMP-designated products can be found at http://energy.gov/eere/femp/energy-and-water-efficient-products). All machines shall remain the property of the contractor throughout the contract period. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, repair/maintenance services, and repair parts as needed during the contract period. Machines shall be maintained monthly in an operational condition so that they may be continuously used. All work performed by the contractor shall be performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, Headquarters Air Force standards, instructions, and commercial practices. Projected quantities of washers and dryers are as follows: Electric Washers (Estimated quantity ~174) Electric Dryers (Estimated quantity ~37 ea) Gas Dryers (Estimated quantity ~12) Stackable Washers & Dryers (Estimated quantity ~45) Stackable Gas Dryers (Estimated quantity ~181 ea) All machines initially installed under this contract shall be in good working condition and free of dents, scratches and rust. All washers and dryers shall be of the same manufacturer with manually operated timers that can be controlled by the user. The contractor shall deliver the washers and dryers to each building and install utilizing existing outlets. Washing machines shall be a standard model from a major manufacturer and they shall be commercial type units and have as a minimum the following features: 16 lb. Minimum capacity Top loading agitator type is preferred, however, not required Water temperature control Water level control Permanent press cycle Manually operated timer Washer shall be equipped with a lid switch and tub brake, and a � hp 120V motor. Each shall have a white finish that matches the dryers. Dryers shall be a standard model from a major manufacturer and shall be commercial type units. They shall be electric and/or gas as required in the PWS, and shall conform to the following specifications and sizes: 16 lb. Minimum capacity Permanent press cycle Regular fabric cycle Automatically stops when door is open Manually operated timer The electric/gas dryers shall have a � hp 120V motor and the electric dryers shall have a minimum input of 5,000 watts and a maximum input of 6000 watts at 220 volts. Each shall have a white finish that matches the washers. The contractor shall provide all maintenance and repairs, including repair parts (regardless how the part is defective) to the laundry equipment. The contractor shall keep the washers and dryers clean at all times, interior and exterior, including but not limited to, removal of loose and built-up detergent, lint and dust, stains and foreign matter, rear walls, floor areas below equipment, and surfaces between equipment.
