The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of qualified, potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted. A response to this sources sought notice is not an adequate reply to a potentially forthcoming solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, (NCO 08), Miami VA Healthcare System, 1201 NW 16th St, Miami, Florida 33125 is seeking authorized Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB s), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB s), Small Business (SB s) or Large Business (LB s) manufacturers/distributors that can provide a laboratory processor for gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and urine specimens (Pap Testing). Attached are the salient characteristics. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this Sources Sought and no contract will be directly awarded on the basis of this sources sought. Any information submitted by respondents to this Sources Sought shall be voluntary. To respond to this sources sought notice, please complete the attached form titled Response Form to Sources Sought Notice. The closing date and time of this sources sought notice is July 6, 2021 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. This is not a solicitation and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Attachment B Salient Characteristics Miami VA Healthcare System Brand Name or Equal Salient Characteristics for Hologic ThinPrep 2000 Processor for Gynecologic, Non-gynecologic, and Urine Specimen GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The ThinPrep 2000 Processor (or equal) must Include the following Components and Features: Utilizes mechanical, pneumatic and fluidic principles for cell dispersion, collection and transfer. Dispersion: Uses a rotary drive mechanism gently disperses samples. Collection: Uses a pneumatic/fluid system, controlled by microprocessor, monitors cell collection. Transfer: Uses computer-controlled position and positive air pressure to facilitate transfer of cell to the ThinPrep microscope slide. Processor for Cytology must be compatible with multiple specimen types, ThinPrep Pap Test, ThinPrep Non-Gyn, and Gyn samples (urine mucoid, body fluid, and fine needle aspiration). Must have lightweight benchtop unit with compact footprint. It is ideal for single sample processing that reduces risk of chain-of -custody errors. This system must be simple and easy to operate. Must include waste bottle assembly with bottle, bottle cap, tubing set, fitting, and waste filter. Must include test filters for Gynecologic Application. Must include filter caps and spare filter seal O-rings. Must include operator manual. Must include power cord. Must include dispenser pump. Must include program memory card for Gynecologic Applications. The dimensions must not exceed: Height 19.5 inches Width 18 inches Depth 15 inches Operating Temperature / Humidity must be: 15-32° C or 59-90° F 20% 90% RH, non-condensing Must have power requirements 100/120 VAC at 47-63 Hz, 200 Watts
