Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice Only The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, Vermont, has a requirement for Transformer Cooling Fans Installation in Building 31. This work will furnish and install cooling fans on the two transformers serving Building 31. These fans will increase the capacity of each transformer from 750 KVA to 1000 KVA. The work includes but is not limited to: six (6) 120 VAC cooling fans with mounting brackets; two (2) transformer temperature monitors and controllers; two (2) control power transformers; SIS wiring; six (6) insulated thermocouples; and miscellaneous items. This announcement is seeking information from industry, which will be used to determine set-aside possibilities. No quotes are being requested at this time. This is not a solicitation for quotes and no contract will be awarded from this synopsis. Qualifications of potential contractors include: Experienced electrical contractors having properly trained and licensed staff; experience in maintenance, inspection and testing of Electrical Power Systems in healthcare, industrial, educational and/or commercial facilities, including experience in switchboards and switchgear (low and medium voltage), low voltage contracts, wiring, transformers, and other electrical appurtenances; safety training as specified in OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910 and NFPAE. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities, and qualifications of various members of industry, namely Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and/or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) in accordance with the requirements of Public Law 109-461. However, all capable small businesses are encouraged to respond. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238210 and the size standard is $16.5 million. This notice is published to conduct market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of verified SDVOSB and/or VOSB capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside. In order to be eligible as an SDVOSB or VOSB, a firm must be registered in VetBiz. Registration may be accomplished at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. Additionally, all interested firms must have an active registration in SAM. Registration is available at www.sam.gov. For planning purposes, the Government intends to publish a solicitation for this requirement on or about June 1, 2021. Interested parties responding to this sources sought request shall submit the following information at a minimum: (1) company name and address, point of contact with phone number, and DUNS number; (2) documentation relating to capability of performance of electrical projects in accordance with the qualifications identified above; and (3) proof of registration in the VA Vet Biz website and verification by VA Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) or status of verification application. The response date to this Sources Sought notice is May 20, 2021, at 11:00 am. This market research is for informational and planning purposes only to determine the appropriate set-aside.
