- Description
- Beach Erosion Control and Hurricane Protection Project Beach Renourishment - Bal Harbour 2021, Miami-Dade County, Florida The project consists of beach renourishment in central Miami-Dade County, Florida. This project will nourish eroded shoreline along Miami-Dade County within the Village of Bal Harbour. The berm design consists of a flat berm at the distance, slopes, elevations, and tolerance shown on the drawings. The Construction Base Line (CBL) and Erosion Control Line (ECL) are the same for the length of the project. The sand source for the project will be the Baker's Haulover Flood shoal complex (Dredging) as well as an upland source (Truck Haul). See Section 35 20 25 BEACH FILL (DREDGING) for the order of work. The DEP permit only allows for dredging the flood shoal complex by cutterhead dredge or by hopper dredge. See section 01 57 20 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. The upland source will be selected by the Contractor meeting criteria required in Section 35 30 00 BEACH FILL (TRUCK HAUL) and listed as approved within environmental resource agency permits. See section 01 57 20 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. Project work also includes, but is not limited to, vibration control and monitoring, environmental species monitoring, benthic resource and pipeline impact surveys and reports, and turbidity monitoring.
