Description

NASA John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) intends to solicit MTS Systems Corporation, Inc. on a sole source basis�for replacement of three new vertical�actuators, the associated hoses, as well as the necessary materials and services needed to update the existing Vehicle Motion Simulator (VMS-1) at the Kennedy Space Center�s Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF). Kennedy Space Center, FL.� KSC will conduct this acquisition pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1) and 13.501(2)(ii), Soliciting from a single source, which states, ""[c]ontracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization)."" The attached Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition explains the rationale.
