- 35772 - FOLS - Construct two ABA compliant walkways Sources Sought The National Park Service requests information from small business vendors registered as small businesses under NAICS 238990 - All Other Specialty Trade Contractors, with a size standard of $16.5M or that meets that size standard and can perform the work. Vendors interested in submitting a proposal for this requirement should send a Statement of Qualifications. Submit information to the Contract Specialist, Adam Kircher, at adam_kircher@nps.gov, no later than (NLT) 2:00 PM CT on July 12, 2021. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy decision based on the results of this market survey and a future solicitation may be issued as unrestricted without further consideration. The Work consists of the following: Construct two independent decomposed granite with a binding agent natural pavement walkway connecting the west elevation porches of the structure to the existing natural pavement walkway located along the perimeter fence of officer's row of the fort. These walkways are not structurally connected to building or existing walkway, but rather butt up to each. Walkways are to be constructed to comply with the Architectural Barriers Act 2008 (ABA). ABA (403.3) states the maximum running slope of walking surface cannot exceed 1:20 (5%) and maximum cross slope of 1:48 for accessible walkways. The work of this contract is to match the appearance of existing decomposed granite natural pavement walkways. The porches are approximately 18-inches above existing grade, and approximately 8-foot-wide the walkways and shall narrow to 6-foot-wide where it connects with the existing walkways to the west. These new walkways shall have an even and gradual slope between the porches and where the walks connect to the existing perimeter walks. The new walks shall also have an even and gradual taper from the porches to where the walks connect to the existing perimeter walks. These walkways are approximately 98-foot in length and shall be constructed with even and gradual slope from the porches and existing walkway. All work will be located at Fort Larned National Historic Site, 1767 Kansas Highway 156, Larned, Kansas 67550. The National Park Service anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price contract. In accordance with FAR 36.204, the magnitude of construction is: Between $25,000 and $100,000. Period of Performance: 90 calendar days from Notice to Proceed Paper copies of this announcement will not be provided.
