- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisitions, intend to award a sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), to Emory University School of Medicine, 235 Whitehead Bldg 615 Michael Street, Atlanta, to purchase Fully differentiated ready to use primary human airway epithelial cells. These ready-to-use plates of primary cells along with cell-specific media will maintain them in Air-Liquid-Interface (ALI). Also it is to characterize different donor cell lines to establish molecular phenotypes to choose from.� Entities further from the CDC would have to ship frozen cells that, by their nature, cannot already be differentiated primary cells and still viable.� Emory would provide the labor, space, and resources required to plate, differentiate, and select only quality (sufficient TEER for cell type) cells, allowing CDC personnel to begin directly with meaningful experiments rather than month long preparatory workflows for each plate (�ready to use�).� Therefore, it is not in the best interest of the Government to use a different vendor as it would cause harm (financial and otherwise) that would not be reasonable. No request for quote will be issued based upon this notice of intent. This synopsis ends in 3 days in accordance with FAR 5.203 (a)(1). Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide the specified products via email to srehan@cdc.gov. Please include reference number (2021-57405) and respond by July 9, 2021 at 4 PM EST. Responses received will be considered for future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
