Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), intends to award a single source contract to Aero Twin, Anchorage, Alaska. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to acquire, under single source for the US-Marshall service in Anchorage, AK to have a Cessna 208 Caravan that is requiring a Gross Weight Increase Kit & Battery and a High Intensity Discharge (HID) Landing Light and Taxi Light Kit. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to Aero Twin based on the Contract award for a one time required services for a Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft to have installed a Gross Weight Increase Kit that increases the aircraft maximum takeoff payload weight from 8750lbs to 9062lbs. This kits also increased the maximum landing Gross Weight from 8500lbs to 9000lbs. These capabilities enhances the daily mission requirements and provide broader range in payload capabilities and increase the aircraft range. This High Intensity Discharge (HID) landing and taxi light kit replaces the wing mounted landing light and taxi light that offers five (5) times more light than the existing lights and only uses a fraction of the aircraft power. This increase visibility allows other aircraft pilots to see this aircraft at a greater distance on a landing approach which increases safety. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Aero Twin Inc and is not available for full and open competition. All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed in writing to the Contracting Officer, Abigael Schultz, Abigael.k.schultz@faa.gov, (405) 954-8071, FAA Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, Office of Acquisition Services (AAQ-722), PO BOX 25082, Oklahoma City, OK 73125 no later than Friday July 19, 2021.
