Description

Fort Randall Paleontological Services Contract with Base Year and (4) Option Years. �Fort Randall Project requires the following specialized services to stay in compliance with The Antiquities Act of 1906 and The Paleontological Resources Protection Act of 2009: a) survey of geological strata, b) excavation of fossils found, and c) curation of fossils at an approved, acceptable facility. Paleontological work is located on Lake Francis Case/Fort Randall Project lands. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies,facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform the tasks in the SOW. �The Contractor shall perform to the standards in this purchase agreement. Requirement is further detailed in scope of work:��1. Surveying, mapping, collection, inventorying, and organizing fossils. This will include field documentation using GPS and USGS topographic maps. Sites will be restored to preexisting condition to the extent possible.2. The excavation, transportation and preparation of fossils for storage using standard paleontological techniques, including all tools and materials needed.3. Storage of fossil specimens in a controlled environment. Fossils will be labeled US Army Corps of Engineers property and be available for inspection or use by designated Corps personnel. 4. Index and inventory summaries.5. Curation and collection management.6. File Searches as requested by the Government.7. Paleontological Resource Site Monitoring of identified sites on Corps managed lands.8. Products for the storage of artifacts.9. An annual written report documenting contract period delivered to the project manger by January 31st of each period.�
