- Description
- The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Adacel Systems, Inc. The required items to be purchased are: MaxSim Laptop Student Trainers, MaxSim Lab Student Trainers, installation services, and a one-time configuration, testing, and documentation fee from Adacel Systems, Inc. Currently, the 352 SWTS has a existing Adacel TSS and the Adacel MaxSim trainers are the only trainers 100% compatible with the already owned TSS. If another mobile trainer were purchased there is no assurance of 100% compatability with the existing equipment and training scenarios. The 352 SWTS requires a 100% compatible system in order to eliminate the need to convert data which can result in degraded performance and lost training capabilities and to prevent additional conversion and development costs associated with incompatible systems. The 344 TRS had previously contracted with UFA Inc for Mobile ATC simulators and after testing and expending hundreds of manhours it was found that the products were not 100% compatible with the existing Adacel systems. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The anticipated award date is unknown. �
