- Description
- The purpose of this acquisition is to establish a firm fixed price (FFP)�contract to provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary to�successfully deliver a complete mid-life refit modification to the NOAA Ship�RONALD H. BROWN.� This acquisition will be competed on a full and open basis utilizing FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. This refit modification will include an upgrade or�overhaul on many of the ship�s systems. These systems include, but are not�limited to, repower, bow thruster, Z-drive, potable water, chilled water,�sewage, science refrigeration, uncontaminated seawater, air conditioning�air handlers and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), tank level�indicator (TLI), navigational , radar renewals, overhead lighting, security�perimeter lighting, and exterior ballast and fuel tank vent renewals In�addition, much of the ship�s piping will be replaced along with steel, as�identified in the already completed American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)�report.
