- Description
- GRASSHOPPER TREATMENT: The Bureau of Land Management, Cheyenne, Wyoming, intends to award on a sole source basis with WASHAKIE COUNTY WEED AND PEST CONTROL. The contractor will be providing insecticide treatments across approximately 22,000 acres on BLM lands in Washakie County, Wyoming to control grasshopper populations. Large population outbreaks of grasshoppers occurred in areas of Washakie County in 2021 as determined by USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Washakie County Weed & Pest, local ranchers, and BLM personnel. This work may be continued in subsequent years as funding is available. Maps of treatment areas will be provided by the BLM in conjunction with APHIS and County nymphal monitoring. The objective is to reduce grasshopper populations to a reasonable level. The relevance is that without treatment, these populations would cause significant forage losses on BLM lands in these areas, causing negative impact to ranching operations and wildlife. No solicitation package will be available. No telephone or fax requests will be accepted. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Detailed capabilities must be submitted no later than July 30, 2021. The North American Industry Classification for this procurement is 115112 with a size standard of $8.0 Million.
