Description

The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) Contracts Department at Stennis Space Center, MS 39522, hereby formally announces the intent to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to SubSea Technologies, Inc. �The proposed contract action is for supply for which NAVOCEANO intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 41. U.S.C. 1901(e), as implemented by FAR 13.501. The Contractor will fulfill the requirement of the Acoustics Department to supply two (2) Marine Seismic Sparker Systems that shall be portable in design for roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) missions aboard T-AGS 60 Class Oceanographic Survey Vessels. This total systems purchase is necessary for life cycle replacement. The special features sought through market research must be in accordance with the specifications in the Statement of Work�in the Request for Quote attached to this notice. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. �However; all interested persons that identify to the Contracting Officer their intent and capabilities, to satisfy the Government�s requirement with commercial items and are received within 3 calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� The Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) Acoustics Department (NP5) has a requirement to acquire two (2) Marine Seismic Sparker Systems that shall be portable in design for roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) missions aboard T-AGS 60 Class Oceanographic Survey Vessels. �This total systems purchase is necessary for life cycle replacement.
