Description

Synopsis- Notice of Intent to Sole Source This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.203. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce the 316th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland intent to solicit and negotiate a Firm Fixed Price sole source purchase order with Melling Medical, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) Only one responsible source. The Government intends on purchasing the following items and quantities: Must meet the requirements in the attached salient characteristics sheet for: One (1) each ultra-wide field imaging device, daytona plus part# a10600 The Government intends to solicit and negotiate solely with Melling Medical. Per FAR 13.106(b)(1), as no other source of supplies will satisfy agency requirements. The Optos Daytona is the only camera on the market capable of capturing a single, 200 degree image of the eye. This equipment provides a better view without using special lenses or maneuvering patients to get a specific view. The ability to capture a picture of this scope allows doctors a complete view of the eye without duplicate office visits; therefore, streamlining the referral process. Melling Medical is the sole distributor of the Optos Daytona and no other source would meet Government requirements without redevelopment of this equipment. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 333314, with a size standard of 500 employees. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations. However, responsible sources that submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, received by 07/22/2021 9:00 AM Eastern Time, shall be considered.
