- Description
- Solicitation: 36C25621Q1391 Q&A How do the sites currently determine what is hazardous and what is non-hazardous waste pharmaceuticals? Hazardous waste pharmaceuticals are those drugs defined under 40 CFR and Mississippi State Code as Listed or Characteristic Hazardous Wastes and issued applicable waste codes as such. Non-Hazardous wastes are pharmaceuticals that fall outside of these regulations and are not controlled substances regulated by DEA. Do they have any volume data? The Biloxi Campus is classified as a small quantity generator of hazardous waste. Volumes are relatively small, particularly of those products that are acute hazardous wastes. We currently have 30 medication rooms set up with 3-gallon containers for hazardous (1 container) and non-hazardous (1 container) waste in nursing units. Typically, during a month, there are 5-10 of these containers reported full to the safety/GEMS office. The majority, 80% are non-hazardous containers. Who picks up and replaces full bins outside of the requested service frequency in the RFI? If such pick-ups are necessary, that duty will be conducted by the GEMS program manager. Is the hazardous waste being removed associated with HazMat Table 1 or HazMat Table 2? Presuming that the question references 49 CFR 172.504, the pharmaceuticals would generally fall in Table 2. Can you please provide a weight breakdown by waste classification for a typical pickup? An approximation for a quarterly pickup would be (Less than 6 lbs. of acute hazardous waste pharmaceuticals, Approximately 100 lbs. of non-acute hazardous waste pharmaceuticals), approximately 400 lbs. of non-hazardous waste pharmaceuticals. Is pricing to be calculated by the container or by the pound? By the pound. How would the Agency like to have invoicing detailed? Container Number, pickup location identifier, Date of pickup, classification of waste, unit price, weight, total price. Accessibility Accessibility will be available during normal clinic hours of operation. Typically, 0800 1500 Monday Friday, or as otherwise stipulated in the contract, whichever is most stringent. Note scheduling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays is advisable to avoid compressed work schedules used by key personnel. Are freight elevators available to move containers to/from ground level? There are elevators available. Please confirm if there is a loading dock, and is there a ramp to the ground? Yes. How far apart are the buildings that are getting serviced? All buildings on the list are within a complex, some are connected, and some are across the street from each other. Is there sufficient parking for our truck at each building for the time it will take to retrieve material for disposal and replace containers? Yes. Incumbent Is there a current contract for the work being solicited? No. If so, please provide that awarded contract number or task order number (NOT the incumbent GSA contractor number). Please provide the name of the incumbent contractor and when the contract is ending. Please provide the annual contract amount. Is the level of effort being performed under the current contract fundamentally the same as what will be required to fulfill #36C25621Q1391? If not, please explain how the work will be different under this solicitation. RCRA Hazardous waste would be greater weight than pharmaceutical waste. The waste includes drums of Xylene, chemicals, bulbs, etc. Containers are much larger than pharmaceutical waste containers.
