Description
Amendment 0003 July 15, 2021 The solicitation�has bern�amended to add questions and responses. The bid due date is 26 July 2021 by 10:00 central standard time.� Amendment 0002 July 13, 2021 Second opportunity to see the site will occur on Friday, 16 July 2021 starting at 0900.� Meeting place will be parking lot in front of the National Great Rivers Museum. Amendment 0001 July 6, 2021 The lock closure date is being changed from� Apil-July 2022 to January 1,2023 thru March 16, 2023. Attached is a copy of the�solicitation and Plans and Specifications.� MPLD OVERLOOK ALTERATIONS Project Description: The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District is seeking a firm to perform and demonstrate capabilities and experience for work consisting of a main lock and an auxiliary lock; a dam containing a movable section of nine Tainter gates; and a fixed submersible dike reaching the Missouri Side of the River.� The main lock is 1200 ft by 110 ft with a lift gate at the upstream end and a miter gate at the downstream end.� The auxiliary lock is 600 ft by 110 ft with a set of miter gates at the upstream and downstream ends. The work covered by this contract consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, operators, supervision, supplies and materials and incidentals necessary to perform alterations to the Melvin Price Main Lock Overlooks.� The overlooks, which are located on the upstream end of the main lock on both sides of the chamber, are single story reinforced concrete buildings that are elevated 14.5 feet above the top of the lockwall and supported by reinforced concrete columns.� The structural work on each overlook consists of concrete demolition and removal via Government approved methods, and relocation/replacement of concrete columns, beams, slabs, and walls in order to shift the face the building back from the face of the lock wall approximately 4.5-feet.� The demolition will require some of reinforcing steel to be left in place.� Contractor designed temporary shoring of the building will be required during the demolition phase of work.� The concrete demolition is to be completed above lift gate machinery that is to be protected and left in place during the work. Solicitation: The closing date and time for submission of offers will be contained in the solicitation package. The solicitation is expected to be issued on or about 28�May 2021. This solicitation package will be posted on the System for Award Management (BetaSAM), which can be accessed at www.beta.sam.gov. The Government will not provide paper copies of the solicitation or the Interested Vendors List (IVL). Telephone, written, facsimile, or e-mail requests for the solicitation package or the IVL list will not be honored. Potential bidders MUST register at www.beta.sam.gov, in order to receive notification and/or changes to the solicitation.
