Notice of Intent to Issue Sole Source Award The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6), intends to negotiate with Dominion Air & Machinery Company on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to procure a 3-axis CNC Milling Machine for the Richmond VAMC. This machine shall provide the ability to rapidly machine metal parts, including but not limited to custom tooling for injection molded parts such as nasal swabs and other personal protective equipment (PPE), orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive technology devices. This equipment is Brand Name Only for standardization at the Richmond VAMC. This requirement may be subject to the non-manufacturer rule TO BE DEEMED AS A NONMANUFACTURER (please respond to each of the following statements): does not exceed 500 employees. ____________ is primary engaged in the retail or wholesale trade and normally sell the type of item being supplied. ___________ takes ownership or possession of the item with its personnel, equipment, or facilities in a manner consistent with industry practice. _____________ will supply the end item of a small manufacturer, processor or producer made in the US, or obtains a waiver of such requirement. ________________ The NAICS code is 333517 with a business size standard of 500 employees. Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 6 anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order to Dominion Air & Machinery Co. for this requirement. The Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center is requesting a SOUTHWESTERN INDUSTRIES Model TRAK-TMC5 Vertical Machining Center with ProtoTRAK RMX Control, 16 Tool ATC, CAT40, 15Hp, 8,000 RPM Spindle and supplies, DXF File Converter Option, Parasolid File Converter Option, Electronic Handwheel (EHW-TMC) Scope. The Contractor shall provide equipment, tools, materials, installation, training and repair (1 year) necessary for McGuire VA staff to operate a TRAK-TMC5 Vertical Machining Center capable of converting DXF and Parasolid file formats to a CAM path and milling a variety of materials. Specific Tasks. The Vendor will provide the following supplies: TRAK-TMC5 Vertical Machining Center with ProtoTRAK RMX Control, 16 Tool ATC, CAT40, 15Hp, 8,000 RPM Spindle Printer consumables (filters) Guyson Multiblast cabinet for HP printers with compressor TigerVac Explosion proof vacuum The Vendor will provide the following equipment to provide services.
