- THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A SOLICITATION. THE SUBMISSION OF PRICING, CAPABILITIES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND OTHER MARKET INFORMATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e). DISCLAIMER This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. IAW FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES-SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a sources-sought/RFI only. The purpose of this sources-sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 334516 (size standard of 1000 Employees). Responses to this sources-sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources-sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources-sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking Brand Name or Equal Multi-Mode Microplate Reader that meets the following Salient Characteristics for the VA San Diego Healthcare System: Salient Characteristics/Specification Must be compatible with existing Gen5 analysis and data procurement software that generate data files in the. XPT format Must come with 5 licenses, with full installation and training Software must be able to automatically calculate and quantitate kidney biomarkers based on a standard curve Software must have data exporting capabilities to Microsoft Office Suite Must have free lifetime applications support from both a technical assistance center and a local field applications scientist Must have a meantime between repair-metric of at least 10 years Must have a small physical footprint of at least 16 x10 x14 (WxHxL) due to limited lab space Must have at a minimum the following research applications relevant to Kidney Failure research including DNA, protein, and biomarker quantification, metabolic enzyme kinetics, ELISAs, genetic analysis, cell proliferation, and drug metabolism Must be able to use multiple detection methods based on biomarker/enzyme reaction being researched Must have UV with a dynamic range of detection at 200-900 nm for most metabolic biomarkers Must have Fluorescence and Luminescence for higher levels of detection sensitivity for biomarkers such as ATP Must have a wide range of microplate compatibility from at least 6 to 384-wells Must have temperature control to incubate samples up to 50°C for enzyme/drug activation and cell proliferation Must have plate-shaking capabilities in both the linear and circular configuration Part Number Description Quantity BTS1LFA SYNERGYHTX LUM, ABS, FLUOR Biotek Synergy HTX Multi-Mode Microplate Reader, Includes: Luminescence, top/bottom fluorescence and UV-Vis absorbance, Detector Type: Fluorescence, Time-Resolved Fluorescence (secondary mode), Luminescence, UV-Visible Absorbance, Dynamic Range: 0-4.0 OD/>6 decades 1 EA Product Information The brand name is Biotek Instruments.
