- This is a Request for Proposal (RFP). ��The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Richard B. Russell Agricultural Research Center in Athens, GA.., has a requirement to modernize the existing Caterpillar Generator Paralleling Swithgear.� The solicitation number is 12405B21R0029 and is issued as a request for proposal (RFP).� The NAICS code is 238210 with a size standard of $16.5M.� Contractors shall not directly contact the�facility to discuss this requirement.� The work includes but is not limited to:�� Modernize the existing generator paralleling switchgear controls at RRC in Athens, Georgia by replacing obsolete parts and maintaining portions of the system that do not require updating to create a more reliable and serviceable system.� The purpose of this work is to replace obsolete components in the generator paralleling switchgear and the generator� mounted control panels.� The project will modernize the equipment to increase serviceability and reliability without having to replace the entire system.�� The main CPU,� touch screen interface and 24VDC battery back up are current and will not be replaced.� The existing Basler utility breaker protection will not require replacement or alteration.��� All work� shall be performed in strict accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications contained in this document. Contractors are required to be actively registered in the System for Award Management, (SAM)� prior to submitting a proposal.� You can register on- line at www.sam.gov. �If you are already registered and your registration has expired, you will need to go the SAM website and update your information.
