- Description
- The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Launch Enterprise will host an Industry Day on 17 August 2021 from 0800-1700 PDT at the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA. The purpose of the event is to open dialogue with Industry on innovative acquisition strategies initially shared in the Request for Information (RFI) to Support National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Program Planning on 10 November 2020 (see Attachment 2) and to facilitate the development of the Phase 3 Launch Service Procurement acquisition strategy for awards starting in fiscal year 2025. Additionally, the NSSL Program Office is looking for launch capabilities that will be available to meet space access needs and to understand what incentivizes industry to pursue medium to heavy, including NSS-class launches. Industry Day will kick off with a general session, 0800-1000 PDT, that is open to all participants. After the general session, the NSSL Program Office will hold one-on-one sessions with potential Phase 3 Launch Service Providers (LSPs). The Government considers a potential Phase 3 LSP to be any space access company with an existing and/or planned launch system capable of lifting a NSSL-class payload to orbit. During the one-on-one sessions, the Program Office seeks to discuss industrys novel procurement ideas and launch system plans to help the Government maintain the highest levels of Mission Success, improve affordability, and ensure the Warfighters needs are met. Please note, registration is required for Industry Day attendance. In person participation is limited to five people per company and virtual attendance is available. Interested (in-person and virtual) parties must fill out and submit Attachment 1 - NSSL Participant Request Form no later than 1300 PDT on 27 July 2021. Instructions for attendees will be provided after registration. For potential Phase 3 LSPs who wish to request a one-on-one discussion, please annotate in Attachment 1 - NSSL Participant Request Form. If selected for a one-on-one discussion, the Government will provide an agenda that includes discussion topics to all one-on-one participants. The Government will only consider one-on-ones with potential Phase 3 LSPs; however, other industry participants may submit innovative acquisition strategy ideas in writing to the POCs listed on this notice for Government consideration. The Launch Enterprise values our industry partnerships and looks forward to continued engagement resulting in the development of an innovative acquisition strategy to maintain Assured Access to Space in a competitive and contested environment. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code and size standard are 481212 and 1500 employees, respectively. Small Businesses interested in subcontracting opportunities are encouraged to contact launch service providers directly. SMCs Small Business points of contact are Mr. Willard Strozier and Ms. Audrey Campbell. They can be reached at smallbus@us.af.mil. Disclaimer: THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.
