- Description
- This is not a request for quote/proposal. Pursuant to FAR 5.203(a), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD), on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE), intends to extend services by issuing an extension to the incumbent, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), on a sole source basis. The services are being extended to provide analytical and information management support to implement PRISM objectives associated with the Department of Defenses budgetary requirements. The contractor is currently performing services under task order numbers GS35F486BA / HQ0034-16-F-0063 and the services concluded on May 31, 2021. The period of performance is in the four (4) option period from June 01, 2020 to May 31, 2021. The notice of intent for the first extension modification was extended by 2.5 months of services from period of performance June 01, 2021 to August 15, 2021. However, the Government will need an additional 1.5 month totaling 4 months to award the competitive long term contract. The 1.5 month will be extended using the same regulation FAR 52.217-8 and therefore the period of performance for the extension will be from August 16, 2021 to September 30, 2021. The anticipated extension will be made under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 8.405-6(a)(1)(C) In the interest of economy and efficiency, the new work is a logical follow-on to an original Federal Supply Schedule order provided that the original order was placed in accordance with the applicable Federal Supply Schedule ordering procedures. The original order or BPA must not have been previously issued under sole-source or limited-sources procedures. Currently these services are going through a competitive acquisition with an anticipated award date by September 30, 2021, and therefore, these services will provide a continue need to meet CAPEs requirements as its going through its competitive process. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will NOT be honored or acknowledged.
