- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Services (OAS) on behalf of The Division of Viral Special Pathogens Branch, intend to award a sole source firm fixed priced simplified purchase order to Roche Diagnostics Corporation to purchase MagNA Pure 96 Small Volume kits and supplies. The Chronic Viral Diseases Branch (CVDB) currently uses two Roche MagNA Pure 96(MP96) instruments to extract nucleic acids from cervical swabs in Digene Specimen Transport Medium, dry cervical swabs, oral rinse, cervical samples in PreservCyt and urine samples. To complete validation and sample testing, additional MagNa Pure 96 DNA Viral NA SV Kits, reagents, and consumables are required. The MagNa Pure system only uses reagents and supplies sold exclusively by the instrument manufacturer, Roche Diagnostics. MagNA Pure 96 instruments can only use MagNA Pure associated supplies and reagents that are barcoded for process tracking and calculate how much reagent was used in each process. Other supplies and reagents from other vendors/manufacturer are not compatible to use with the MagNA Pure 96 system. Therefore, Roche Diagnostics Corporation products and parts are necessary. No other known potential vendors have been identified to fulfill specified requirements. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation /response should be emailed to the Contracting Specialist at lsf7@cdc.gov (CTR) by 4:00PM EST on 07-23-2021.� No telephonic quotes shall be considered.
