Description

This Justification and Approval (J&A) provides for the U.S. Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Pittsburgh Safety and Health Technology Center (PSHTC) to�acquire 65 Small Rocket Lift Device (SRLD), Model Self Contained Self Rescuers that can be utilized during an emergency escape to generate oxygen while removing carbon dioxide from a user�s breath. Proper use of such breathing devices provides a safer and healthier working environment for Miners, Mine Inspector�s, and Rescuer�s during a mine emergency event.
