- Description
- NOTICE This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS)/Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational purposes and market research only; it does not constitute a solicitation. The Government will not reimburse any company or individual for any expenses associated with preparing/submitting information in response to this posting. The information provided may be used by the Government in developing its acquisition strategy, statement of work/statement of objectives, and performance specifications. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained within their response as instructed later in this posting. BACKGROUND AND SCOPE The United States (US) Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate, Special Warfare (SW) Program Office (AFLCMC/WISN) is conducting market research to identify possible sources capable of providing a multi-role, scalable, lightweight litter/ladder system that has a small footprint (size and weight) when stowed and carried by a single man. The system material should be abrasion resistant, not absorb water, biological or chemical hazards, and should be easily decontaminated in a CBRN environment. The litter/ladder combo should offer a multi-role capability at a lighter weight, 13 Lbs. or less to offer a greater capability at a lesser weight for dismounted operations, increasing stamina and longevity of the SW operator in the field. Concept of Employment: The litter/ladder combo will be used during foot patrols in the field or urban environments. The ladder capability should allow scaling and bridging of gaps, walls and fences when needed. The litter function, both in a fixed or soft configuration would be used for unilateral medical support in a ""downed man"" scenario to quickly transport the patient to higher medical care by foot. Additionally the litter should be capable of helicopter hoist operations.
