- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This SOURCE SOUGHT NOTICE is for the purpose of Market Research. Response to this notice will be used for information and planning purposes. No proposals or quotes are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS or QUOTES and NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall NOT be construed as solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Responses to this notice is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System is seeking preferably Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, or Small Businesses (but will accept other than small business for market research purposes), capable of providing surgical instruments maintenance and sharpening services for Surgery Service, Biloxi, MS. See DRAFT Statement of Work for detailed description of services. The NAICS code is 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance Services and the Size Standard is $22M. Responses must be received by no later than 1:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday, July 26, 2021. Responses shall be emailed to rene.impey@va.gov. Contract Requirements: For reusable medical equipment/instrument sharpening/repair/replacement parts. 2. Background: The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS), Biloxi, MS, is currently seeking a company that can provide monthly onsite, same day services to repair, refurbish, and assess for replacement surgical instruments for use in operating room procedures, for rigid sterilization containers, and for case carts used for instrument transport. Preventive Maintenance (PM), scheduled repairs, refurbishment and assessment for replacement shall include but is not limited to all specialty trays by Service (Ortho, ENT etc.) scissors, osteotomes, curettes, periosteal elevators, gouges, knives to include sizes from micro to amputation, rongeurs, bone cutters, pin cutters, burrs, drill bits, all surgical forceps/clamps, all retractors, and all needle holders to include insert replacement. Vendor shall track refurbishing history by set to determine service schedule rotation. The Vendor shall ensure that the instrument repairs and service functions are performed in conformance with ANSI-AAMI ST-79:2010 Part 7.7 (Servicing and Repairs of Devices in the Health Care Facility) and specifications used by the instrument manufacturer. The Contractor shall provide repair service, which may consist of calibrating, cleaning, stain removal, lubricating, adjusting, replacing parts, and maintaining the equipment, insulation electrical safety inspection, as required by instrument type, including all emergency calls necessary between regular repairs. Upon completion of repair, refurbishment, and testing of the submitted instruments, rigid sterilization containers and case carts, the contractor must return the equipment to the Sterile Processing Section (SPS). Additionally, the contractor must also provide a summary document upon delivery of processed sterilization containers, case carts, and instruments containing the following information: date of repair, instrument type, type of repair and cost. 3. Required services that may be performed offsite and not required to be same day service are as follows: Rigid/Flexible endoscope/laparoscope repair Video Equipment Repair Fiber Optic Cable Repair Electrosurgical instrument repair/refurbishment Flexible biopsy repair/refurbishment Surgical power/pneumatic equipment repair
