Description
The United States General Services Administration (GSA), Public Buildings Service (PBS) issues this public announcement seeking interested office furniture Vendors qualified to participate in the Center for Workplace Strategys Workplace Innovation Lab (WIL) initiative. Participating Vendors shall enter into a bailment agreement (see Attachment A) to supply furnishings to GSA for a period not to exceed 12 months from commencement of testing. All interested Vendors shall submit product specifications, any applicable examples of research & development, and other materials demonstrating their ability to provide innovative workplace design solutions to create a modern, agile, and diverse workplace for Government employees. WIL alterations must meet building code requirements such as Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standard (ABASS), HVAC, lighting, fire safety requirements, etc. Background: GSA is testing several agile workplace labs located within GSA's Central Office (1800F) located at 1800 F Street, NW in Washington, D.C. The WIL will embody cutting edge design and innovative environments to experiment a range of alternative workplace solutions for the future. With the COVID-19 Pandemic as catalyst, the lab will explore the opportunities for federal agencies to shift to a hybrid model of work and real estate portfolio in which the space design and technology seeks to provide an equitable experience of collaboration; both for those physically within the office as well as those collaborating virtually. The WIL will serve as a living tool that demonstrate GSAs ability to positively influence agencies in creating effective and contemporary workplace strategies. Federal tenants across the National Capital Region (NCR) will have the opportunity to utilize the space on both an individual or as a cohort/business as a coworking model and in order to test new products and directly participate in further refinement of product specifications, standards, and workplace environments which will assist GSA in the development of future specifications and standards. WIL will explore the use of shared work points and a range of agile workplace settings such as interactive and focus spaces that possess a range of acoustic and visual privacy to meet the occupants workstyle and job functions. It is highly encouraged that the furniture solutions offered are easily re-configurable and moveable, and listed within the Vendors ""kit of parts. A key component of the lab environment will be the use of technology solutions such as a singular booking solution for all WIL which incorporates an occupancy sensor/reporting system. Participating vendors will also be encouraged to integrate any in-house or partner technology solutions which are useful in measuring occupancy levels of particular furniture pieces, zones, or features within their assigned suite. In addition, tenants who utilize the WIL will be encouraged to respond to periodic surveys which details their individual experience of utilizing the space. This real-time and end-user feedback is instrumental to the success of the WIL testing environment. Project Description: The WIL will be divided into at least five different neighborhoods and settings ranging from approximately 2,500 to 5,500 square feet of open office suites; vendors will have the option of outfitting existing, adjacent collaboration and support spaces such as huddle and conference rooms, workplace cafes, etc. WIL neighborhoods in 1800F will likely be located within a singular floor, however the final locations are yet to be determined. Vendors products do not need to be on the GSA schedule or GSAs FIT program, however products provided must be TAA Compliant in accordance with FAR 52.225-5 Trade Agreements. The Vendor may choose to partner with other manufacturers to provide a range of innovative products, features and/or equipment contributing to the WIL. At GSAs discretion, the Vendor will have access to the WIL for tours, photography, videography and informational signage. Consideration will be given to Vendors with innovative design experience and products as well as extensive research. GSA, via a random selection, will assign Vendors to specific WIL neighborhoods.
