Description
NOTE: �THIS IS A SYNOPSIS, NOT A SOLICITATION. �PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; THEREFORE NO QUESTIONS OF A TECHNICAL OR CONTRACTUAL NATURE WILL BE ACCEPTED OR ANSWERED UNTIL THE SOLICITATION IS ISSUED. INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS SYNOPSIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. This procurement is set aside for 100% Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Businesses only.� Solicitation Number W912P821B0066 is anticipated to be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). NAICS Code 237990. The resulting contract shall be a single Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. The solicitation is anticipated to issue on or about 4 August 2021.� The bid opening date is anticipated to be on 3 September 2021, however, actual date of bid opening will be determined upon the solicitation advertisement date. The MRL Armoring near Morganza Project will consist of repair the failed levee sections on the Morganza South Guide Levee along Baseline Stations 275+00 to 335+00, and multiple erosion locations along the Mainline MRL between stations 1002+00 to 1022+00 and 1313+69 to 1369+69.� The sections will be replaced with adjacent excavated and new embankment material.� New fill material may need to be processed with the excavated material to construct the levee back to its original slope.� Once completed, construction of approximately 13,600 LF of Articulated Concrete Blocks (ACBs) and geotextile separator fabric will placed along the levee slope from EL. 60 FT to 15 FT past EL. 49 FT at Baseline Stations 1313+69 to 1369+69 and 275+00 to 335+00 and from EL. 60 FT to 15 FT past the levee toe at Baseline Stations 1002+00 to 1022+00.� The ACBs will be anchored into the levee slope at the top and bottom limits of the levee slope in an anchor trench which will be backfilled and compacted.� It is expected that heavy construction equipment such as excavators and bulldozers will be used to repair the levee slope, prepare the surface and excavate the anchor trench.� A crane will be used along Highway 1 and the levee crown for the placement of the ACB mats.� Once all construction is completed, the levee and disturbed areas will be fertilized and seeded for turf establishment.� The estimated value of this work is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The estimated time of completion is 600 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. (The solicitation will include 54 drawings and specifications) The Government will not provide written paper copies of the solicitation. Potential contractors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation package and any amendments.
