Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Acquisition Service (OAS), intends to award a firm fixed price sole source purchase order in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), to Bio-Rad Laboratories 1000 Alfred Nobel Drive Hercules, CA 94547 to purchase Platelia SARS-CoV-2 Totally Antibody 480 tests. Bio-Rad is the only commercial biotech company that supplies Platelia SARS-CoV-2 Total Antibody kits. The Bio-Rad Platelia SARS-CoV-2 Total Antibody kits are being used in an ongoing evaluation project and the consistency in using kits with the same antigen target and biological principle is needed to ensure the quality of data. The selection of the Bio-Rad Platelia SARS-CoV-2 Total Antibody kits was based on that fact that it has been approved for Emergency Use Authorization by the FDA (FDA-EUA only). Therefore, it is not in the best interest of the Government to use a different vendor as it would cause harm (financial and otherwise) that would not be reasonable. No request for quote will be issued based upon this notice of intent. This synopsis ends in 3 days in accordance with FAR 5.203 (a)(1). Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide the specified products via email to qaz7@cdc.gov. Please include reference number (2021-57694) and respond by July 23, 2021 at 3 PM EST. Responses received will be considered for future procurements. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
