Description
STATEMENT OF WORK Provide Tactile Signage Overton Brooks VA Medical Center Shreveport, LA OVERVIEW: The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) has a need to expand and make updates to the signage system. The original design build project was competed among GSA Schedule vendors and awarded to a GSA Vendor. This project developed the current sign standard and provided the signage system including wayfinding design. GENERAL PROJECT SCOPE: The purpose of this project is to provide tactile signage for the stairwells at the OBVAMC. Tasks include designing, manufacturing and delivery of signage to the OBVAMC. The contractor shall match the existing signage provided by utilizing the same Fire Red color, thickness, fonts and style. Signage shall comply will with NFPA requirements as well as include braille. The contractor will be responsible for surveying Building 1 at the Overton Brooks A Medical center and providing signage for non-NFPA compliant signs. A recent survey conducted identified the need for seventy seven (77) new and replacement signs in stairwells. Signage shall be 18 x 18 and match the existing color scheme for the facility. The proposed signage and wayfinding maintenance package will meet all Federal and Department of Veterans Affairs requirements for safety and ADA compliance. When needed, it will provide clear identification of current level designation, stairwell identification, roof access, show direction of travel for discharge, identify discharge level, and identify upper and lower terminus. The signage must function and match finishes and sizes exactly that are currently VA approved, designed, and installed. This will ensure a cohesive, consistent, and interchangeable signage / wayfinding system. The period of performance to for delivery is 60 days from issuance of NTP.
