- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, intends to negotiate with Ekspla, Inc., located in Bozeman, Montana, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b), soliciting from a single source to purchase one (1) Diode Pumped Solid State �Optical Parametric Oscillator. NIST requires this oscillator to provide a � for quantitative imaging with photoacoustic spectroscopic imaging.� The laser system is needed to provide a nanosecond pulse of light tunable between 405 nm and 2600 nm wavelengths for photoacoustic imaging.�� The laser system must also have the option of adding on a deep UV doubler to reach wavelengths from 210 nm to 405 nm.� per the attached Requirements/Specifications. The NAICS Code is 333314, Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price contract to Ekspla, Inc. for this requirement. Interested parties that can demonstrate they could satisfy the requirement listed above for NIST must clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. If competitive procedures are not used it is estimated that an award will be issued by August 21, 2021. All responses to this notice of intent must be submitted to angela.hitt@nist.gov no later than July 30, 2021, at 2 pm MST.
