- Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 5, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify companies that have the resources and capabilities to provide radiation survey instrument calibration services for the VHA Office of Emergency Management s Medical Emergency Radiological Response Team (MERRT). Description of Work Contractor will provide all resources necessary to perform calibrations on these types of radiation survey instruments: Ludlum Model 2241-3 or 3001-3 & probes (up to 20 instruments per year), Ludlum Model 2224-1 & probes (up to 10 instruments per year), Ludlum Model 2401-P or other Geiger-Mueller survey instrument (up to 10 instruments per year), Ludlum Model 52-5-1 (up to 4 instruments per year) and Polimaster PM1703-1 (up to 30 instruments per year). Contractor will also provide instrument repair services as needed. Contractor will be responsible for return shipment of instruments back to MERRT members who are geographically dispersed throughout the U.S. Qualifications Contractor must be licensed, authorized by government/regulatory authorities to perform these types of services. Contractor must have the necessary resources to perform the instrument calibration services in-house, within a 15-day turnaround time and in accordance with industry standards. Repair services must be performed in-house as much as possible. Interested & Capable Responses NCO 5 is seeking responses from entities that are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources, capabilities and qualifications necessary to provide these services. Please respond with your: 1. Business name, business type, socio-economic status (e.g., Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business, 8(a), etc.), and person of contact (including telephone number & email address). 2. Capability statement and summary of previous experience providing radiation survey instrument calibration and repair services for the Veterans Health Administration or other Federal agencies. Be sure to include information pertaining to your company s licensing by regulatory authorities, industry/ISO certifications obtained, and other pertinent information. 3. Description of Contractor s facilities, equipment and other resources on hand to perform the services. 4. Ballpark cost estimate of what the VHA Office of Emergency Management could expect to pay your company to perform the work described above per year. Responses must be submitted by 11:00 AM on August 3, 2021. Responses to the information requested above must be submitted via email to james.whisner@va.gov. This request for information/sources sought notice is for planning purposes ONLY. The results of this market research will assist in the development of (1) the requirement, and (2) the acquisition strategy (e.g., small business set-aside, full and open competition, etc.). VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice.
